Program Mission:  Engage The Mind

Woodturning is an activity that involves using hand tools, wood and a machine called a lathe to produce both useful items and works of art.

One of our club missions is to educate and involve today's youth in the wood shop experience.  Our club shop is fully equipped to provide a complete woodturning experience for your group or organization.  We start with making simple wood pens to develop familiarity with the tools and the equipment.  More advanced topics including peppermills, kitchen utensils and bowl turning become available as skills develop.

Every youth is paired with a knowledgeable mentor who will provide hands-on experience emphasizing safety in a one-on-one educational environment.

The experience starts with learning proper technique for using the tools in a safe manner.  The youth then proceeds to make their very own pen.  At the end of the session, each youth gets to take home what they make!

This is a great opportunity to teach your youth how to work with their hands, express their creativity and create something unique they will cherish for years to come.  Let us give your youth group or organization an experience rarely found in today's education system.

  • Events will always be held on a Saturday morning 9am - 12pm Eastern Time.

  • Each youth will be allowed to take home whatever they make at an event.
