Hey Fellow Woodturners!  Just a friendly reminder that the meeting night has changed!  New beginning in 2020, the meeting night has changed to the 3rd Thursday of each month!

ArtFest 2020, February 1st & 2nd, is only three weeks away!  So far, there has been a great response for volunteers for the ArtFest event!  There are only 7 slots left for club members to demonstrate turning and answer questions for the public.  This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show off what we do and how we do it.  If you would like the opportunity to volunteer a little time, show off your wood turning skills, and watch the kids eyes light up as your project comes to life, grab one of the remaining spots for the event.  Thank you to everyone who has already signed up!  Grab an open spot and enjoy ArtFest 2020!

Remember there will not be an open shop day on November 16th 2019 due to the Mark Sillay demonstration.

Come join everyone at the Tennessee Association of Woodturners 2020 Woodturning Symposium.  The 2020 Symposium will again be held at the Marriott Hotel and Convention Center in Franklin, TN.  Time is running out to save money - early registration ends December 31!

Mark Sillay will be holding a pro turner demo November 16th at our club.  On November 17th he will be doing an all-day hands-on workshop.  Check out the Events calendar for November for more details.

As a club we are working to organize youth activities in our club shop.  The goal is to expose today's youth to a hands-on experience with woodturning.  Learn more from our Youth Activities page on our website.

Carter Products has an outstanding bandsaw tuneup video on YouTube.  This excellent video is now linked in the Members menu under Past Presentations.

If you own or plan to own a bandsaw, this video is a must-see.

Frank Bauer from the Peace River Woodturners club will be demonstrating how to make heirloom Christmas ornaments at our October 2019 meeting.  

Also note that show-and-tell at the October meeting will begin at 6:00pm.  The actual meeting will begin at 6:30pm.

The featured presenter for the September 2019 meeting will be Steve Johns.  Steve will be covering basic bowl turning and offering tips/techniques to improve your own results.  

Our June 2019 club meeting will feature Franck Johannesen as our featured presenter.  The topic will be turning Norfolk Island Pine so that the knots align all on one side.

The July 2019 club meeting will feature Steve Johns demonstrating the use of a coring system on the lathe.
