Let’s do something to support our deployed service members—and have a great time doing it!
On Saturday, February 21st, from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, we’re hosting a Pen Party at the club shop to support Operation Turbo, making hand-turned pens that will be sent to U.S. troops deployed overseas. It’s one of our favorite events: meaningful, social, and just plain fun.
There’s no cost to members, and yes—lunch is on us. Nothing brings people together like free food and supporting a great cause.
To keep things running smoothly, we need volunteers for every step of the pen-making process, including:
- Drilling and gluing brass tubes into pen blanks
- Sanding blanks on the disc sander
- Turning and finishing pen barrels
- Final assembly of the pens
When you register for the event, you’ll be able to choose the role you’d like to help with. Each position has a limited number of spots, so grab one early.
Several tasks can be done seated, and those are clearly marked in the signup. If standing for long periods is tough, there’s still a perfect way for you to pitch in comfortably.
Come help us support the troops, make a pile of great pens, and enjoy a fun day in the shop with fellow members. I promise encouragement, questionable jokes, and maybe even a surprise or two.
See you there!
